Air Marshal Peter Brett Walker (29 September 1949 – 6 September 2015) was a Royal Air Force officer who served as Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey from 2011 to 2015.
==RAF career==
Educated at Pocklington School〔(Old Pocklingtonian Association )〕 and Durham University, Walker joined the Royal Air Force as a flight cadet at Royal Air Force College Cranwell in 1969.〔(Guernsey's next Lieutenant Governor is named ) BBC News, 26 October 2010〕 He served as a fighter pilot flying the Phantom FGR2 and Tornado F3 aircraft and went on to command No. 111 Squadron.〔(Historic Squadron Disbanded )〕 In 1993 he went to the Falkland Islands to command RAF Mount Pleasant.〔The Daily Telegraph (London), 9 September 2015, Obituary, pg31〕 He became Director of Operational Capability in 1999,〔(Ministry of Defence and Tri-service Senior appointments )〕 Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Operations) in 2001〔 and Assistant Chief of Staff (Policy & Requirements) at SHAPE in 2002.〔Whitacker's Almanack 2004〕 He went on to be Commander of the Joint Warfare Centre in Norway in 2005〔Whitacker's Almanack 2006〕 and retired in 2007.〔
In retirement he became Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey〔 and died in that role on 6 September 2015.
